Our Story
Roger got his start in construction at an early age. His father was a carpenter and a contractor. Weekends, summers and days off during school year were spent working with the family business. After serving in the US Navy, Roger returned home to Arkansas and eventually attended UALR earning his Bachelors in General Business degree. He began his construction career in 2003 doing residential construction projects. Some of his projects were simple kitchen and bath remodels and some were more complex like second story additions and extended additions to historic homes. He also gained experience in complete renovations and flipping homes. Unfortunately, the economy collapsed in 2010 and he closed his business.
During this time Roger entered into the commercial construction arena by creating the Weatherization Training Center at Pulaski Technical College. After renovating the auto collision repair center and turning it into a state of the art training center, Roger stayed on to be the director of the center, which was a National Bellwether Award finalist for most innovative energy efficiency training center in the nation.
Since leaving Pulaski Technical College, Roger has worked for two different commercial contractors where as a project manager he oversaw multiple simultaneous remodel projects involving clients such as McDonald’s and Arby’s throughout the surrounding states of Arkansas. He also gained knowledge and skills in commercial roofing and oversaw projects such as the reroofing of ACCESS Schools after the March 30, 2024 tornados and the tear off and reroof of the historic El Dorado city hall.
In February of 2024, Roger made the decision to follow his heart and start Roger Smith Services Group, LLC. The mission of the company is to combine our experience, expertise and passion with superior customer service skills to help our clients realize their dreams. We bring a team of professionals together that help minimize the client’s stress and worries when building, renovating or restoring their cherished spaces.
